I have worked in design for 25 years creating new products and packaging for internal print and commercial printing. Designing products packaging for museums, historical sites and jewellery companies such as English and Scottish Heritage, Historic Royal Palaces, V&A Museum, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, National Gallery and others. In my last position at an Academy, I created material the Academy’s graphical material including certificates, reward postcards, information posters, worksheets, work books, prospectus etc. Ensuring that all created items are printed and finished using colour copiers, desktop laminators and comb binder. Creating & updating of the Academy website. Recently I have been creating designs for various charities as a freelancer, creating posters, reports, infographics, cards and anything else they needed. Working with a new company will introduce me to new working practices, new fields of designs, new approaches to design and expand my experience to new levels. Any opportunity to learn and develop is an opportunity to be grasped and enhance my personal abilities and a chance to pass on those experiences to those I work with. I hope that my variety of experiences will make me a suitable candidate. Hi, I’m Christopher Dowson, a designer with experience spanning 3 decades in the creative industries. I began my career in the late ’90s taking on design projects while at college and university, before launching my own studio in 2005. Since then, I’ve worked with a broad range of clients on varied projects. My work spans traditional (print) and digital design, supporting both established companies and start-ups. I’m a generalist, so expect to see projects that cover a lot of different things. Largely I focus on branding and websites, but have experience in all aspects of design. In short, I like to make things that work well and look pretty.
